How terracotta is made?

Terracotta also known as (Baked Earth), is a hard, fired and unglazed clay. Being reddish-brown in colour it is a rather distinctive tile. Terracotta is made from all natural materials that are extremely durable, and also resistant to bacteria and mold growth. It provides your home with a warm and earthy aura. You can get Terracotta in a wide range of finishes from matt to a high gloss. These tiles are ideal for both outdoor and indoor projects. Terracotta is associated with Southwest, Rustic, Mediterranean and Old-World styles. Terracotta and Quarry Tiles must be sealed properly, as they absorb moisture quickly due to their high porosity. They are extremely sensitive to alcohols, citric acids, vinegar and oils which can leave nasty spots and stains. Sealing Terracotta and Quarry tiles will help prevention of discolouration, soiling and staining.
